Deal Breaker?

I just had a date with a man whose apartment reminds me of "Silence of the Lambs." I can't decide if this is a deal-breaker...

And one related question: How soon do you tell someone (that doesn't already know) that you blog? 3rd date? 5th? Never?

Uh... if anything reminds me of Silence of the Lambs I think I'm done.

It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again...

Regarding telling a non-blogger about the blog... you probably shold, eventually. Especially if you ever plan on writing about them. I haven't crossed that bridge yet, but I'd have to say something. Not at first, but eventually.

LOLOL! I laugh every time I hear that line. I can't help it.

definitely never tell.

oh, and that movie? scary deal breaker already...

What reminded you of the movie? Was it just a big "Silence of the Lambs" poster? Or was it something more subtle, like large swathes of human skin and hair sewed together?

This is an important distinction. In seriousness though, you obviously can't tell him about your blog now, unless you are going to delete this entry.

Yeah, what was it specifically? Did he have a bug collection? ewewewewewewew!

And I say mention it when it comes up or seems right. I've only gotten to three dates since I've been doing the blog thing and only once did I *almost* mention it. But definitely don't go out of your way to NOT say anything.

OK: It reminded me of Silence of the Lambs because his house is actually an old Dentist's office. His room used to be an examination room. His roomates live on the 'regular house' floor, but he lives in the wing where the doctor had set up shop. There's even a diamond-shaped window on his bedroom door that he's covered with paper.

...But I dont think this post is any reason not to share the blog. I told him his room was SOTL-esque last night. Cuz I'm a straight-shooter like that, lol.

Stay away from the man who every alludes to you being "yummy".

I just tell everyone. It's too big a hobby not to share.

I agree with cookie. But I don't write anything that I wouldn't tell someone or care if they read.

My own personal gut reflex is never. Now I'm questioning what that says about me and my blog...

I-66, that line cracks me up as well! Good times, good times.

As far as telling someone about the blog, it depends on how comfortable you are with sharing this part of your life with someone. Hopefully you won't have to start censoring yourself.

Y'all- This is becoming a bigger and bigger hobby for me... like Cookie, I'm actually not sure if I could hide it. I mean, my friends know and talk about it, so a guy that was hanging with my friends might find out anyway. In fact, I think that's how I'd let him find out. Naturally.

Chase- Funny you should say that. There is someone that I care about living in Prague right now, for an undetermined amount of time. Savage doesn't put life on hold. I told him about the blog, and he was hurt when he read it. Hurt because of the things I wrote and hurt because I hadn't censored them.

But Savage is a straight-shooter. Savage censors for no man. Besides, this stuff is relatively tame...
OK, no more writing like Nixon, I promise.

Ps- Heather- You've got to be kidding. If he thinks I'm *yummy* that can't be a bad thing. ; )

To tell or not to tell... depends how much you rely on him for good material. If you want to publicly ridicule him and he's reading your blog, well, that's a perfectly good post out of the window. Worth it? You make the call.

I've been blogging for years and that has never came up as an issue. Eventually the girls always find out i have a blog (by google or me mentioning it or my AIM profile)... but it's never been a deal breaker. But i also don't use 'em for material on my blog
